Absurd Warnings

For English we have been working on a writing matrix ,the matrix has multiple activities to choose from. I have chosen this activity that has you create and absurd warning to an object.

Absurd Warnings
Society is becoming panicked about a lot of everyday objects. cell phones, microwaves, facebook, social media, takeaways, animals etc.
Select 5-10 objects.
For each object, write an absurd warning label that could be placed on the object when it is sold.
Example:
Sunglasses- Warning.Use of this object can result in a reduction in social status due to irregular tan lines across the eyes and face. User discretion is advised.

My Warnings

Hair Clippers- Warning improper use of this item and no experience cutting hair could lead to hair loss, embarrassment, and worst case scenario bald head for along time.

Watch - Warning improper setting of time could lead to lateness and you will be viewed as clumsy for being too late all the time.

Chair - Caution watch out for evil beings that will pull your chair so you fall over.

Book - Warning do not read if you are uninterested in reading and visualising the story and problem, failing to listen to this warning will lead to boredom

Window - Warning this is a window you can’t walk through even though you can see through the window doesn’t mean you’ll be able to phase through.

Can You Hear It.

For English we have been doing a creative writing matrix. I have chosen this activity.
Can You Hear It?
Write a descriptive paragraph or poem about a setting.
The sounds and scenery can tell where a story is, how the characters are feeling.
Background sounds can be used to show where the character is.  eg. If she is at home in the summertime: the sound of a lawnmower
eg. The trees swayed softly in the breeze
is very different to  “The branches scratched viciously against the window’

My Paragraph

The tree gently, swindles, and turns leaves rippling in a pattern. The tree lightly whiplashes through the air.

Weather with you.

For English we have been doing a creative writing matrix. I have chosen this activity.
Weather with You
Write a descriptive paragraph or poem about a character.
The weather shows how your character is feeling e.g If she is sad, the weather will be grey and cloudy, maybe with some rain.
Show, don’t tell

My paragraph

Weather With You.

Every time he’s mad, it’s like a furious typhoon raging through the northern hemisphere, always leaving an aftermath of disaster.

Six Sentence Story

For English we have been introduced to a creative writing matrix, we get to choose the story and work we want to do. For today I chose to do The Six Sentence Story.

Once upon a time, there was an enormous black dog. The big black dog lived in a little shed watching people walk past. The big black dog was a very strong dog that could break fences triple the size of him. However everyday people would judge and laugh at the big black dog as we the big black dog was never allowed outside of the shed. The big black dog felt angry and sad because they never understood how he felt. But one day the big black dog had enough of the people making a mockery of him, and he ran into the gate and crashed through it chasing the people that mocked him.
