The Lies
W.A.L.T: Write a poem about lies (Stereotypes) that they have heard about themselves.
The lie: They say short people like me can’t play basketball.
They say I won’t achieve anything because i’m short.
People say gamer's like me are wasting time.
Some people say don’t aim for a goal you won’t ever be able to do.
You could never do it, you shouldn’t do, you’ll just embarrass yourself.
Truth: I’m alive not dead.
Their words are bullets being shot but i’m no target.
Lies like this can hurt but i'm used to it.
What they say will never knock me out my guard is up and ready for the battle’s outcome.
Short people like me can play basketball, in basketball sometimes you don’t need height it matters sometimes. but basketball is more about pure talent then height.
I will achieve lots, The time I may waste is always a good time, I will achieve my highest goal. I will do it, I can do it. I won’t go down without a fight. Watch me and you’ll remember my name.
