In the short story named 'Butterflies' by Patricia Grace, a clever girl with plaited hair who lives with her grandparents heads to school. At school, she writes a short story about how she killed all the butterflies, as they are believed to be pest to the cabbage. The teacher believes the butterflies should not be killed as they are beautiful insects. the grandparents then say she must buy her cabbage from the store.
Butterflies talks about the 2 different perspectives between the Grandparent and grand daughter to the teacher at school. The short story conveys a message that different upbringings can cause people to see life differently.
