On the first week of the holidays my family and I had planned to take a long trip to the Moeraki Boulders. We did this because we wanted to get out of the house and create memories. We had decided to go at 5:00am on the first Friday of holidays. I was not excited about getting up so early!
Friday Comes Along…..
My family and I had awoken at 3:30am because the trip would take us at least 3 hours and 40min, we had got dressed into sensible clothing for photo’s. Then we packed up some food and drinks, as soon as the time reached 5:00 am we had left, all of us had felt radiant and drowsy.
Since we would be traveling for 3 hours and at least 40 minutes we brought travel pillows and blankets. Most the time we tried sleeping but when we were awake we would see trees, cows, sheep, dogs and many more animals.
All of us had known we had left at 5:00am, we were very tired so we decided to just sleep like logs but we never could because of the bumpy roads, rocky roads and just unstable terrain. Sleeping felt nearly impossible.
As soon as we got to the Moeraki Boulders we had ate lots of food, it was like humongous feast, there was at least 3 bags of food, it was amazing. Once we finished up eating we had got rid off all of our scraps, I felt energetic after the feast. Now for the photo’s.
We were going down a wooden path, it was as steep as a cliff. As soon as we finished the path we sprinted to the the boulders, we then whipped out the camera’s and created memories, we took a lot of family photos and solos. About 30 minutes later we jogged back to the car happily.
We finished creating memories and got back into the car, we then started traveling back home, it was fun while it lasted.
Conclusion
I felt like I was bursting with energy and satisfaction. The trip was intense, especially the part where none of us could sleep. But in the end we finished up happy and glorious. My family and I can’t wait for another fun day to create memories.
